The bottom line when it comes to skin care is be gentle. Too many of us were programmed by Stridex commercials to think that a dry face equals an acne-free face. On the other hand, we have fragrance-filled youth serums going for hundreds of dollars. No matter what condition your skin is in, one thing is clear: if you apply a harsh product to it, you are more likely to create a problem than solve one. You may already use skin care products that work fantastically for you. If that is the case, lucky you! Don't make changes. However, if what you're doing isn't working or you want a less expensive option, here are products I use on myself and my clients.  Johnson & Johnson's Purpose is a lathering cleanser that is gentle, just like the name says.  The purpose of toner is to get any last bits of dirt that cleanser may have missed and return your skin to it's natural PH. This toner prepares your skin for moisturizer, as opposed to stripping it of all natural oil.  I have very, very sensitive skin. Most moisturizers make my skin red when I apply them, especially the ones that are labeled for sensitive skin. Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion (not to be confused with the Daily Facial Moisturizer) keeps my skin looking the pale color it naturally is. Clean & Clear's makeup remover is a fantastic drugstore product that very close to Lancome's Bi-Facial, many women's holy grail of eve makeup removers. I am always testing inexpensive brands to find great options that won't break the bank. Right now, I am trying out CVS's version of Olay's Eye Lifting Serum.
